進化論 vs 創造論

影片︰Evolution vs. Creationism 19: Origins of Cellular Life

Christianity does not say that Creationism (science of creation) is true. Rather it simply says that there is a creator. The methodology by which things are created is not defined in the Bible.
While it is likely valid to refute the claims of evolution, it is not valid to then claim that creationism then must be true. The creation sciences do not present themselves as a better theories to describe the method by which life comes to pass.
Plenty of Christians believe in the science of evolution.
You do not need to believe in the fooly that is creationism to believe in God.

Thanks so much for dropping by. Your reply leads my mind to more exploration.
Hmm, your point about “creationism is just a methodology invented by men rather than written in the bible” really frees me from many of the doubts when i tried to stick close to christianity = creationism. Thanks for marking that.
I’m not very good in this field of science and theology, but I bet the Bible did mention about how men (and other creatures and beings) were introduced to the world. The methodology that used was “word declaration”. The Creator spoke “let there be light”, and there was light. So this is the place where my doubt lies in the evolution idea - things (at least those mentioned in the bible) did not come out from cell evolutions. They came out of nothing, until words were declared from the creator. This is in contrast to having things coming out from other cell evolutions.
And in Genesis it is obvious that the Creator was designing the world. But in evolution theory, it talks about mutations and natural selections, where things are not “designed by someone”, rather they were some sort of results from the natural selections, mutations processes. This is also a point I still can’t figure out how Christians can embrace at the science of evolution.
Do you have any idea about that?

I don’t think I am an expert either, so I am just providing my views.
= How things were introduced to the world =
Those passages in Genesis pertaining to how God created the world have more than one valid interpretation If anyone says that things are created by the word of God, what does that mean? What is the word of God? Spoken worlds in the physical realm? How long did it take? What materials did God use? There are no details that tell us HOW God did it.
I would like to point out that if God judged that it was important for us to know with complete certainty and more explicitly, he would have put something in the Bible to tell us more certainly.
Evolution as a scientific inquiry does not, and never will, remove the need for a ‘first cause’ in the universe, because the law for ‘cause and effect’.
If evolution tries to say imply that God does not exist, it is no longer a scientific conclusion. Experimentation is at the heart of the scientific method. Whether or not God is involved in any way cannot be shown by science, since science is only capable of judging what can be perceived by our ’senses’. Science will never tell us everything we need to know about life. It is a useful tool to have, but it isn’t everything.
For example, evolution claims that things evolve from lesser beings to greater beings. But science cannot say that God did or did not orchestrate it. If God orchestrates and causes natural selection, then he is still the designer and creator. If they continue to search for the causes, they will still arrive at an unknown first cause. I don’t see how the Bible says anything against how cells evolved.
As for my personal preference, I don’t actually take either evolution or creationism as ‘true’. But the one thing I will say for sure is that God caused it all as a first cause. However, in addition to that, I would also believe that God is actively involved in every intricate detail in the world, being in complete control over all things and all time. Even if evolution were to have happened, God made it happen.

Hmm, I get more about what you mean now. Yes, I do agree that what you say can be true. I think what trapped me earlier was:
if the idea of “things were deliberately designed” is true, then the idea of “things just happen to come into existence because of random mutations” should be false.
But your latest reply opened my mind more towards the idea that these 2 can happen together.
You really opened up my mind more! Thanks for that…
Btw, have you got a blog too?
